ia500 is a highly integrated, low-cost internet access device. ia500 provides a good way connecting to the internet. users can use embedded 8032-t mp as system processor, or see ia500 as a communication part, connecting to host via rs-232c, usb or gpio.
ia500 integrates 56kbps modem, dtam, 8032-t cpu, sram, rom and a/d, d/a converter all in one chip. the 8032-t is an enhanced 8032, it can support up to 4m2m-bit program rom and 3.5m2m-bit data rom, and run at 40mhz. each instruction is executed within 4 clock cycles. for data storage memory, users can choose sdram or flash memory depending on application. in dram mode, ia500 can access up to 128mbit sdram. in flash mode, ia500 can connect maximum 4 flash memories. when choosing 32mbyte flash rom, ia500 supports 32mbyte x 4, the total memory size is 128mbyte. in addition, ia500 allows you to use external flash for memory extension. ia500 supports 3 types of memory card interface, cf, smc and mmc.
ia500 provides 3 types of host interface for embedded system, usb, rs-232c and gpio. users can define their own interface protocol.
icace provides free software, including internet protocol, lcd driver, modem driver and key scan. system programmers can easily handle and may add specific functions into ia500 system.
