general desc-ription
the cm5000 is a highly integrated voice over ip silicon solution. it combines 32-bits risc cpu, dsp, and 2 fast ethernet macs. it is the most cost-effective solution for voice over ip gateway and ip phone solution.
the 32-bit risc cpu runs at 150mhz, with 4k bytes instruction cache and 4k bytes data cache. it supports the system management, network management, protocol stacks management, and application program.
the 16-bit fix-point dsp runs at 125mhz, with 32kx24 program memory, 16kx16 coefficient memory, and 15kx16 data memory. it provides 2 serial ports to build maximum 2 voice channels. the dsp supports voice compression (g.711, g.723.1, g.729), acoustic echo cancellation, and a variety of telephony algorithms.
the 2 10/100base-t fast ethernet macs support full- or half-duplex mode, port based vlan, mii interface, and build-in 2kbytes fifo packet buffer. users can use mii interface to connect the external phy or fast ethernet switch to build a voip gateway or ip phone application.
cm5000 also provides lcd control, keypad, uart serial interface, and several general-purpose i/os interfaces for ip phone application.
